ACFinPGH
How do the Flashback controllers compare to the original controllers? I believe the consensus is they are as good or better. The side buttons are much smoother than the original system.
+Rick Reynolds
Agreed. I've taken to using then exclusively - with controller adapter cords (http://atariage.com/forums/topic/230102-intellivision-flashback-controller-adapters/) of course. doctorclu
I like them better and I have been an Intellivision 1 fan for quite some time. Get the adaptor cables and you have some sweet controllers for the Intellivision 2.
m-crew
I have the adaptors ordered/shipped now waiting for some kind of price drop to purchase the flash back.. I think with the softer side buttons and original style key pad it will make playing the intellivision II a lot more hand friendly..
Draugr
I asked AtGames and the Intellivision LIVES guys about selling the controllers separately from the whole Flashback so we can replce broken controllers (really because I want to buy 2 or 3 more sets for backups). I haven't heard back from either group, but AtGames does sell the Genesis and Atari 2600 controllers as accessories so hopefully the Intellivision controllers are made available one day.
+LS650
Some folks are saying they've seen the complete Inty FB discounted as low as $20, so I would think that's probably cheaper than they could ship you two controllers!
CrazyChris
I believe the consensus is they are as good or better. The side buttons are much smoother than the original system. I find the buttons on the original controller hard to press.
CrazyChris
Is it possible to use the FB controllers on an Intellivision 1?
freewheel
Is it possible to use the FB controllers on an Intellivision 1? Yup! http://atariage.com/forums/topic/233792-original-intellivision-flashback-controller-adapters/ Edited January 25, 2015 by freeweed
Intellinate
Thanks Freeweed. I was just about to post the link myself. Unfortunately, I'm out of cables at the moment but please feel free to reserve a set and then you can pay for them as soon as I get my next shipment in. ACFinPGH
I find the buttons on the original controller hard to press. The side buttons on the Flashback are softer plastic and easier to press than the originals (by "smoother" in the above post I meant "they have smoother action" not "they are made of smoother plastic")
CrazyChris
Yup! http://atariage.com/forums/topic/233792-original-intellivision-flashback-controller-adapters/ Thanks freeweed!

wolfy62
How do the Flashback controllers compare to the original controllers? Better. I just hope they hold up as I have not purchased back ups yet.
