Papi Commando - Megadrive Edition !Here is my personnal contribution for a PC's Game I make several weeks ago.You can find and play the game in this link : Papi Commando Here is the official trailer : The game is QB64's made, a powerful quickbasic you probably known.I've 43 years old, I'm french and my english is really crap, so sorry for that ... What's about the BEX conversion ?? A video will be more than a long text : You can see some technics species I solve easly with BEX :- Multi Directionnal Scrolling- Background MAP- Animation, controls and Sprite gestion.- Limit Map & Scrolling.There are No sound, no collisions, Z-Order, etc ... So many works to do yet !!What's about the ROM ??You can find the Demo ROM here : Papi Rom You can play the Rom with many MD emulator and on a MD with a Everdrive Cartdrige.See You ! Papi and his new friends ! Finally, I resolve the problems I have found later. I can create up to 50 Officiers in game ! ( But the Game run VERY slowly )In the demo, 7 units are managed with Papi and a Background Scroll Map. It's really like a Retro Game, you'll see. Before : 8 Go RAM, 4 Core CPU 3.5 GHz, now : 64 KO RAM, 7.67 MHz 16 bits CPU ... Haha !! Vetea #16 Posted February 6, 2015 Hi all,Today I manage the Hitpoint statut and create a new unit : The Soldier.I create multiple SpriteSheet with no Addsprite () penalities.With this Hitpoint, Papi need more bulets to kill powerful units !So I can create more strong unit like ... BOSS !!! Yeahhh !I'm a pixel artist, so with the 16 colors palette, I think I can create some nice BOSS.For now, the game use 10 Ko RAM ... 54Ko Left !! See you ! Vetea #18 Posted March 5, 2015 (edited) Hi all,With Stef Xgm's Driver, I've found a real new solution for the sound gestion of the game !Here is a demo video with the new sound : The engine support 4 channels :- Musics ( 4 )- Papi's sounds ( shot )- Ennemies's sound ( Shot and death )- Game's sound ( Bonus )... and the PSG sound processor, up to 5 channels ! ^^I'll add some new sounds soon.See you !
