ColecoVision + LM318 Composite mod + EM1 = Jailbars?

I have modified a couple of my ColecoVisions with the LM318 mod a while back, and while it does produces a beautiful CVBS signal with standard ColecoVision games. The EM1 displays jailbars/vertical lines when used with it. Anyone know of a fix or workaround for this?
