US Atarians -- thinking about an upgrade?

Recommended Posts

If you live in the US and have been thinking about buying an Ultimate or such, now might be a very good time. Reason being the US dollar is very strong right now relative to the Euro and most other world currencies. While the the Euro was something like 145 vs the dollar some months ago, it is now at 113. So for folks purchasing in dollars, it's like an (almost) 20% discount. Some economists believe the exchange rate will go again to parity at 1:1, but that is certainly speculative.

Of course, for the folks using Euros, US goods are more expensive, but that is all part of the FOREX economic drama being orchestrated by central banks around the world. Anyway, if you've been thinking about an upgrade, now might be a very good time to act.

Yep, I bought an 800XE last week for 41 euro and came out to $57, the next day 41 euro was $51.

As a Canadian I liked it better when the USD wasn't quite as strong :)

(I actually would be purchasing new paddles since mine are busted and beyond my ability to repair them, but the falling Loonie has kept me away from making a purchase. For now anyway - once I need it for HSC I'll probably buckle :) )
