@BigBen One question - I can't read the disk label on your Synapse New York City disk - is it the dual release with Electrician on the back? I'm assuming so because there is a dump of Electrician but I don't see a disk in your photo.

A few stragglers from Collection 3.

Original 2 disk set which would come bundled with UK 1050 drives. The Pay-Off (already in collection), Home Filing Manager and Atari Graphics Demo.

Non original disk images - Beneath the Pyramids, Bio-Defense, Vaults of Zurich.

New 13-05-2018.zip

Re-scanned this manual with a lower dpi for a more reasonable size.

Confused with the Spy Hunter disk. According to your picture, shouldn't it be US Gold? Are the SEGA and US Gold releases 100% the same?

We have examples of original Sega and U.S. Gold disks that are identical. Of course that doesn‘t mean they all are.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I like to join you. In addition, I can check my disks collection for function and replace defective disks.

@ijor: Thanks for the tip. I knew the problem with fragile floppy disks. Look at the Drobzone picture. There are two tracks in the magnetic disk, but it was not mine. Since only helps to renew the disk.

@Farb: Synapse - One Disk with two sides. You can see it on the lable.

Here are the next floppies.

MS-Copy and Im Namen des Koenigs have a MFM track in FM format for copy protection.
The ATX format does not support this.

PaperClip use a Joystick Dongle.

The next update.

Zaxxon is not running anymore. Does anyone have a working ATX file?

I would like to restore the original disk.

Zaxxon actually does work but it is the version which is mega-picky about the OS in the Atari. It only works with NTSC OS-A and OS-B (unpatched!).

You seem to have forgotten to dump the B-sides of Winter Olympiad.

And as a note: The B-sides of the Spy vs. Spy Trilogy are copies of the respective A-sides.

About Zaxxon - Thanks for the information.

OK, make a new dump form Winter Olympiad.

Spy vs. Spy trilogy - I have both sides read in for security.

Does Age of Adventure have two sides?

Allan

Thanks Allan!

Age of Adventure and Super Boulder Dash have a second page.

Age of Adventure Side 1 - Ali Baba & the forty thieves - Side 2 The Return of the Heracles

Super Boulder Dash - Side1 Boulder Dash I, Side2 Boulder Dash II

Here are the right dumps.

Here are the Synapse Games ...

Wooow !!! You have there a good, working, undamaged dump of Alley Cat. That is almost a dream come true. Thanks

Yes, Zeppelin is much worse and almost every copy is severely damaged. But it is much more common.

Here are the Synapse Games. Unfortunately, two floppy disks, Drelbs and Zeppelin, are broken. The magnetic coating much already when turning the disk as pieces from the shell. :(

I would like to renew both. Is there already a backup of these disks?

Here you go.

The additional disks from MicroLeague Baseball have been added.

All of these games by Databyte have 26 sectors on track 37. The ATX files are not running.
What value must be at a8rawconv behind -p at 26 sectors to make a copy of the disk?

Mr.Robot and his Robot Factory
Boulder Dash Construction Set
Montezuma´s Revenge
Spy vs Spy
Atztec
- from Databyte - Track 37 with 26 sectors

Defective are the diskettes of LeaderBoard and Mercenary - The Second Citiy.
Mercenary copied the C64 and Atari versions on the same floppy side, bad attempt.

Hmmm, think I had two or three diskettes where the C64 and A8 version were on the same diskside (mostly Mastertronic). These disks did not have copy protection at all, the unreadable data was the C64 version and a copy with a normal sectorcopy program worked fine (simply ignoring all unreadable sectors of the C64 version)...

Pretty much a noob when it comes to preservation... So I've got a few question if you don't mind.

How do you deal with copy protection?

What software/hardware are you using?

When you "rip" a copy protected disk, can you dump it back on a new disk and still have the copy protection intact?

Do you also preserve the manuals and copy protection devices?

I'm not at home to check your dumps. But many (most) Databyte copy protected titles are PAL only. Not the game itself, but it is the timing of the protection that is very tight and requires PAL timing. So make sure your emulator is configured for PAL setup. And the disk drive must also be configured for a plain Atari drive with accurate timing.
