RMT Patch 8

Recommended Posts

And here's the first step, using RMT 1.28 Patch 8. Is this still PoKey?

King Crimson - Level Five (Step 1)

Ofcourse it's POKEY...

Poor little chip.... being underused for decades...

Btw: Very nice sounds in the tune.

Just 50Hz , not correction anywhere , and a lot of .... twisted emotions....

Such tunes HAVE to be done on the real thing....

At least Youtube has recognized the original tune ;)

If someone could provide an YM to RMT converter, I guess , we could do a lot of conversions there... for a lot of missing tunes ;)

Referring to some other thread ;)

IF you use 15kHz for the basses, you get better bass results at all, and the possibility to chose one of 4 channels for the bass to be played... So it allows to mix 16 bit 2 operator sounds and 2 operator filter sounds....

The Drum is adjusted to sound like some FX, to have it less "technoish" .

Nice edit. It would be nice to improve it further, especially to remove or change the very high short note artefacts here and there. But the rest sounds heavy, stable and in tune.

Another song, another setting... less drums and so on. Also mixing 16 bit 2 operator sounds and 2 operator filter sounds.

I forgot to put the YouTube video link here (see post 30). But here it is.

It's better to replay the tune in Altirra or , even better, on real hardware.

Hmm....

Looking at the possibilites, the Patch 8 offers, we could try to create a good version of Cybernoid 2 . Keep in mind that my latest examples really use "standard POKEY features at single VBI speed" ...
