Anyone have a Sega SG-1000 and a Colecovision?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if the same game shells can be used for SG-1000 and Colecovision ? They look alike anyone have both systems, can show us some pictures of the game shells?

If Collectorvision want to release SG-1000 ports, then its nice to know if there Colecovision gameshells can be used.

I've got SG-1000/SC-3000 cartridges at home, but no ColecoVision cartridges at the moment. I could borrow one from the club at some point.

For that matter, with a bit of hacking you roughly can use Famicom cartridge shells for Sord M5, Master System or MSX I suppose. I've once put the M5 multicart into a butchered Famiclone shell and a MSX game in a likewise slaughtered Genesis shell, but neither of the hacks were of the quality that you would sell to customers anyway. :-P

I have both. Well a colecovision & a Dina System which runs Sg-1000 game carts.

They are similar size. The PCB is not. The sg-1000 is much wider.

Also the colecovision has a proprietary shape to the bottom of the cartridge.

You could make a universal case that could fit both pcbs I believe and both systems.
