Atari-Collector #1 Posted February 13, 2015 I've been trying to get some old style real computer paper, I mean the good old tractor feed paper. Finally found a box at one of those "big box" office stores, problems is they only have it in 2200 sheet boxes (over $40 if i recall), which is way more then my needs for just some casual printing So I was just wondering if anybody had a suggestion for buying computer paper in a more suitable amount like 500 pages? or maybe if there's somebody in the area that would lie to split a box of paper that could work...? +Tillek #2 Posted February 13, 2015 Honestly, I don't remember being able to buy it in quantities that small even "back in the day". I usually had to buy the box or go in with some friends for a box (or "borrow" some from school).

I usually had to buy the box or go in with some friends for a box (or "borrow" some from school). I use to always get them in 500 sheet boxes, I think at computer stores mostly. Maybe with a little luck I can find a few locals that would care to split a box. I do have a bit of colored paper left on a shelf that just never got used up back then.. So I have something to print on.. I use to print up astrology charts all the time, Right now I have an Epson LQ850 that works with the Atari via the 850, and should work on my TRS-80s once I make up the cables for it.. But still I'd like to have a genuine printer from each platform just to be complete. Although my Atari stuff is going to probably come first since it's easier to get and more software out there for Atari...
kenjennings #4 Posted February 13, 2015 Just buy a box. Then you know you'll probably never run out in your lifetime.
Bill Lange #5 Posted February 13, 2015 I bought a 1000 sheet box on Amazon back in Nov. Its more likely my ink ribbon will dry out before I use the whole box. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0027653CK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Bill

SIO2 #7 Posted February 13, 2015 I agree with the poster who said buy a box. It might be harder to find next time you need it. Besides, just imagine how many spit balls you can make from the perf strips.
Muzz73 #8 Posted February 13, 2015 You could check ebay, too. Although the shipping might kill you. I got lucky last year and found a guy selling six boxes of 1000 sheets each (five boxes were still tied, one was open, so I have slightly fewer than 6000 sheets) on ebay for $40 and he was only a 1 hour drive from me! I snatched it right up because no one wanted to pay for the shipping on it (I wouldn't).

Actually the tractor strips make great cat toys too The store with the 2200 page box is Staples, and I've had a lot of trouble with their store brand paper, it wrecked a $500 Canon inkjet for me. I try to avoid buying from Staples any time I can. Anything with their brand on it is just low end re-branded stuff..
