Alien Pinball

Recommended Posts

To me it seems like the flippers need some work.....especially when both are hit at the same time. Its like they both will not respond when pressed at the same time - its either left OR right and not both.

Hey Arenafoot. If the left difficulty is set to A, the joystick up which fires both flippers is disabled. If set to B, joystick left = left flipper, joystick right = right flipper and joystick up fires both flippers. B is the easier choice. Think that's what you are seeing?

That was the trick......before I'd get 20k now I just got over 60k!!!

So has anyone found the easter egg in Alien Pinball?

I tend to want to stay away from eggs in Alien games.

Alien Pinball release 0.8 (see first post).

This is a maintenance release with some optimization. If you use a harmony cart. This one is for you.

Let me know if you run into issues.

I thought it was pretty good despite what you said about it not resembling pinball :o I thought it was pinball-like enough... Though the ball seems to keep passing through the thing at the centre from both directions... I'm probably missing something though.

Ah OK. Not sure then.

Left Switch on B = Easy game

Left Switch on A = Harder Game

SWITCH A:

Gravity is more of a factor

Ball behavior is different

Joystick up for both flippers is disabled.

Wall hits are slightly different.

The tilt is more sensitive.

If the left difficulty is set to A, the joystick up which fires both flippers is disabled. If set to B, joystick left = left flipper, joystick right = right flipper and joystick up fires both flippers. B is the easier choice.

All I can think of.

Sorry it took so long to reply Tangentg. Get the latest version from the first post of this thread. It is the last one (bottom) of the list.

There are so so many ways to run a Atari emulator I'm not sure the one you had the problem with.

New version posted. .09 I think I have fixed the scan line issues. I tested a bunch but there are so many different possibilities in the code I can't be 100 percent sure.

If you have a harmony cart please test it. I tested with PC Stella with breaks set on and did not see any issues.

Thanks

We definitely need more pinball games for the VCS. The action on this game is really fast and I find I'm draining a lot early on, but once I've got few games under me I'm doing much better. I even got the background scene to change! Yay!
