Ugly blue LEDs...why?

Yeah, there are two different camps for sure, the purists and the retro-modder's.

It's funny, because this EXACT argument happens all the time on car forums too.

Do I leave it totally stock? Or keep it looking stock, and replace the suspension and engine/transmission with modern parts?

Yep, in the case of my TI, I'll keep the engine stock (CPU) , but it's open season on how many goodies I can hang off the original unit! :)

My next two goals include an upgraded storage controller and a PC keyboard upgrade.

As for modern stuff...

1) It's usually far less expensive than the 'old & rare' stuff that has been selling at absurdly high prices on eBait.

2) I'd much rather support a fellow hobbyist.

I don't really mind the color blue, in moderation it's fine. But everything I see with blue LED's have these hideously intense blindingly bright blue LED's. When I have to wonder if the sun went out because the blue LED's are blinding me during the day, that's to damn much.

Also...on EVERY FRIGGIN THING EVER MADE FROM 2000 ON?! Seriously?!?! FOR F(censor)ING REAL?!?!?!

I was our buying a TV one day and the clerk asked why I wanted that one instead of a (more expensive model) And I was just like, "no blue led's"
