Anyone know the trick to saving the people? I seem to kill more than I save. I thought perhaps I had to approach them slowly but that doesn't always work.

 

And I might be wrong but I think the "water gage" is the amount of water your boat can take on before it sinks. At least that's what is implied by a write up I found online.

Although I played River Patrol for the first time, it took more than 7 minutes to be eliminated. I think, ORCA didn't make a lot of money with this arcade game.

By the way, my score is 14,780.

Come at them from the side, going straight at them, even slowly, seems to kill them. Strangely, going backwards into them engine-first is fine

I've never played this one before either. Why are we using the bootleg ROM? Is there much of a difference in the two ROM sets? I can't get my bootleg ROM to work

Not familiar with Orca Corp and don't recall seeing any of their machines here in North America. In any case, this was another interesting, albeit obscure, piece of gaming history.

Orca is mostly just a footnote in another company's history. After they (quickly) went bankrupt, their development team formed Toaplan.
