Elvis8Atari #1 Posted February 26, 2015 I've been getting interested in playing arcade games that have been released on home consoles. Xbox 360 has a pretty good collection of games. Midway Arcade Origins has quite a few arcade titles http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midway_Arcade_Origins Other ones they have downloadable on Xbox 360 are Pac-Man, Ms Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Galaga, Tempest, Missile Command, Centipede & Millipede, Asteroids, Xevious I was able to find Burgertime, which was released on Midway Arcade's Greatest Hits Volume 2. Another I wanted to play was Super Pac-Man. That one I found was available on Namco Museum: Virtual Arcade (Xbox 360). But there are still many classic Arcade games I'd like to find on a home console, that I haven't been able to. Such as Donkey Kong, Food Fight and Lady Bug to name a few. Does anyone know if the arcade versions of these games have found there way onto any home console?
Hyperboy #2 Posted February 26, 2015 Do a wiki search for the games you want and it will tell you every system it has been ported to and the name of the collection its on. PS2 has a ton of arcade compilations from Taito, Midway, etc.

Elvis8Atari #7 Posted February 27, 2015 This isn't a troll thread. Had you actually read what I said, you'd see I was talking about the arcade version, not a port. (Such as DK on coleco or NES) The arcade version of Donkey Kong has not been released on a home console, so that is what this is about. Additionally, I know Donkey Kong arcade was released as a bonus in Donkey Kong 64, but it's not quite the same as the arcade version, so in actuality, it isn't the same thing. Yes, via MAME: XBox 360, XBox, PS3, PS2, Wii.
Elvis8Atari #9 Posted February 28, 2015 Yes, via MAME: XBox 360, XBox, PS3, PS2, Wii. How is it Mame can be played on a home console? I have not heard of that
Greg2600 #10 Posted March 4, 2015 MAME is on the Ouya, which is a home android console, albeit an independent one. Via USB (with a USB hub), you can connect any variety of arcade stick or wheel, etc., to increase the experience. It's the most authentic way to play 70's/80's/early 90's arcade games outside of a PC. Unfortunately iMame on iOS is no longer supported, and is really a big p.i.t.a. to get to work now on an iPad. I have not kept up on the 7th/8th generation offerings though. I do recall PS2 getting tons of arcade games in collections, though these often were only released in Japan. SEGA did this a lot. But remember they're still just being emulated, and in some cases not well. In fact, Hardcoregaming101 have an amazing book that covers tons of SEGA arcade classics, and reviews how good or bad their console ports are. They just released one for Konami shooters also. Capcom and Konami, like Midway, have done a number of compilations as well, going back to PS2/XBOX. Food Fight was supposed to be released on Microsoft's "Game Room." Lady Bug has not been ported. Donkey Kong arcade was included in the NES Classics series on GBA. With the GB-Player on Gamecube technically that's a home console. For the sake of simply playing these games on your HDTV, my advice is an android console like the Ouya which can use MAME. You're going to get to use the real arcade rom, and with the exception of a spinner game like Centipede a fairly authentic control experience.
