ReddMcKnight #1 Posted March 5, 2015 Hey all. I've learned that I need some kind of "pass through" device to play some 2600 games on the CV's Expansion Module 1. Problem is, I don't know the exact name of this device, so I can't search for it. I also lack a picture of any kind. Anyone know what this device is called? youki #2 Posted March 5, 2015 'Pass through' device???.. what you mean? To play 2600 games on a CV you juste need the expansion Module 1 connected to the CV. http://www.colecovision.dk/atari.htm
mightywiz #3 Posted March 5, 2015 (edited) your talking about the cartridge port extender because some cartridges we not made to specs and didn't seat correctly in the cartridge port. you only got this if you called coleco back in the 80's and complained about some games not working. then they would send you an adapter that fixed the problem, Edited March 5, 2015 by mightywiz
mumbai #4 Posted March 5, 2015 (edited) If you need a photo of one, I can attach one to the thread. mightywiz has explained in some detail what you are asking after in the original post. I am not certain what the 'official' name is for the device, as it is rather plain in construction. This complicates searching for one, I know. I can tell you that I have only seen four or so show up on eBay over many, many years. None have been definitely or consistently named there. That number isn't definitive, just my personal accounting. I have always wondered how many have wound up in the hands of collectors over that timespan. Maybe someone else knows better than I. So I guess it's not exactly easy to acquire one then?
mumbai #6 Posted March 5, 2015 So I guess it's not exactly easy to acquire one then? I think not, but others can weigh in on this ... it's one of those curiosity pieces.
ValkerieSilk #7 Posted March 5, 2015 Never even heard of it, please post pics by all means! I'm sure NIAD has it documented...

mumbai #11 Posted March 5, 2015 Yes, that's the extra hardware bit. As the photos show, it is wholly unbranded externally (the only exterior text is "Front", blurrily visible in the second photo of the thing). I am curious as to this bit of explanation at the other end of that URL: "When it arrived there was a slip of paper that said it had a $ 60 value." I have never seen that slip of paper. Has anyone physical evidence of it?
ten-four #12 Posted March 5, 2015 Hi mumbai. I got the Pictures from "colecomaniac" here at AtariAge. The 60 $ text from "HDTV1080P" also here on AtariAge. Almost 5 years ago.
mumbai #13 Posted March 5, 2015 I got the ... 60 $ text from "HDTV1080P" also here on AtariAge. In the form of a photograph or from recollection? Curious, as the physical evidence of such ephemera always seems more elusive than it ought to be.

Pixelboy #15 Posted March 6, 2015 The grammar in that article is atrocious! It's a Danish web site, as you can tell from the "dk" in the domain name. Great, now I'm hungry for a Danish pastry...
NIAD #16 Posted March 6, 2015 As mumbai stated, only a couple of these EM#1 Cart Slot Extenders have come up for sale/auction over the years and they have all sold for a considerable amount of money. IIRC, the last one sold about 4-5 months ago for roughly $175.00.
Bill Loguidice #17 Posted March 6, 2015 I can't imagine this being that difficult for someone to make, right? I'm actually surprised no one has done this yet, because fitting certain cartridges is a problem on even some original Atari systems.
