Every second, a horizontal black stripe flickers on the screen

Lots of skilled 2600 repairmen here, so thought I'd ask a question about one problematic VCS.

 

Every second, a horizontal black stripe very briefly flickers on the screen while playing on this unit. Besides that, everything else seems fine.

 

Any ideas?

Are you sure this is coming from your console?

 

If your TV is a LCD this could also be a problem of the TV with the Atari 2600 signal in general. Have you tried on different TVs?

Interesting! I only use CRTs for my classic consoles, but per your suggestion, I tried this 2600 with two other CRTs and it was fine. Odd, as I've used the first CRT with numerous other consoles with no issues. Just chalk this one up to an odd interaction between those two particular bits of old hardware.
