Seems the 2600 is the April fools hoax console of choice...

It's got two things going for it that make it a natural for this sort of gag-- 1. Everyone knows what it is, and 2. It's famous for being able to do things its original designers never dreamed of.

And to add to Zylon's points: 3. It kicks ass.

LOL God That's awesome. I love that. What a great quote:

Designed to take advantage of the wide availability of inexpensive Atari 2600 systems, these modules will allow ImageFX and Aladdin 4D to accelerate their rendering speeds by an incredibly modest amount!

<snip>

Due to the nature of this offer you can only buy these on eBay or your local Thrift Store – which will be convenient since you’ll be there to buy the Atari 2600s as well.

Hey!   My Duke Nukem Forever 2600 cart isn't a hoax - it does exactly what it says it does.  ;)

But the DukeLink is still a bit of an exaggeration, no?

Joe, do you realize what kind of moolah you could make if you built dnf for the atari, I mean all you really need to do is mess with tunnel runner and dn enemies in it. If you can make Duke on the darn tiger lcd you can easily do it on an atari. With that said the work wouldn't take as long as the real dnf, and you would spend less cash and make much more later. You could charge people $50 a cartridge and they would still buy it. (hint hint.)
