Paddle Version of "Gopher" (U.S. Games)

I grew up playing "Gopher" by U.S. games on my 2600. I'm referring this game:

I always thought that it would have been MUCH better game if it could be controlled with paddles. Has anyone made a hack of "Gopher" that provides this function?

Don't know anything about a hack, but this looks like a pretty fun game. I'm going to have to pick up a copy.
