Intellivoice not working (Oh No!)

So I bought a used intellivoice the other day and brought it home to try with B-17 Bomber. All I got was static, but if I held the volume knob just right, I swore I could hear a voice. Anyways, I took it apart and tried to clean the volume potentiometer with contact cleaner. No change. I wiggled it around while I was using it with B-17 Bomber, and the static crap went away, but it wont do anything. However I can still play games through it and the games sound still comes through. Any ideas?
