Android Emulation - Joystick Connection Pozzible via Micro USB Adapter ?

Recommended Posts

Has anybody tried using a Micro USB adapter to connect a SYZYGY USB joystick on an Android tablet that is running the Colleen emulator ?

Are there any other joystick connection options for a USB tablet ? Bluetooth ?

Dunno about Syzygy Joystick, but I tried with SpeedLink USB gamepad and it works flawlessly. Coleen on Android is a wonderful port of atari800 emulator.

Franco, Greblus thanks for the replies. At least I now know it's feasible.

Agreed, Colleen is a great emulator on Android.

I will post my success/failure once I get a joystick.

Thanks.

By the way, my apologies for the thread title. I do know the correct spelling for "Pozzible" and must have been thinking of "SYZYGY" while typing LOL.

Any bluetooth joystick should work. (I love the iPega ones)

Agreed, I've been using Bluetooth controllers with tablets for years. These days almost all Android emulators have built in controller support.

Thanks for the heads up on iPega. They have one I'm going to try that holds a tablet in the middle. That's even more awesome than using a separate controller :D

What I ended up doing was purchasing a micro USB to USB adapter and plugging in my Logitech controller (got a pack of 2 for $6.95 on Amazon).

This combination works fantastic with the tablet.

I will pursue a Bluetooth keypad in the future to eliminate the wires but for now this works great with the Colleen emulator.

Thanks for all of the tips.

The required adaptor is usually a USB OTG adaptor. You can even get OTG hubs, I got one from eBay cheaply that lets you have charge going as well as hanging USB devices off your tablet.

I use with both Nexus 7 and my Windows 8 tablet.

It takes away somewhat from portability but on the other hand having something plugged into the tablet usually means it's sucking more power out anyway.
