How to open an XE Light Gun?

I'd like to open up an Atari XE light gun to clean it out. I've found two screws on the handle and two under the "Atari XE System" sticker, and one more on the front sight. It won't open easily though, and I'm wondering if the barrel is glued together on the front. Is it safe to force it apart?

I've opened mine (keep in mind it was already broken so I don't know if anything I did made it worse) and the lens at the front kind of acts like a bridge between the halves, and mine was in there pretty tight. A little wiggle got it loose.

Ah, I bet that's it. I'll give it another shot and see if I can loosen the lens. Thanks for the help
