CGQuarterly
Oh man the price is through the roof I agree. I'm not trying to threadcrap, but why are these prices so much higher than what repros have traditionally gone for?
CPUWIZ
I agree. I'm not trying to threadcrap, but why are these prices so much higher than what repros have traditionally gone for? Maybe an artist was hired to render something that looks nothing like what you will receive?
Andromeda Stardust
8 posts ftr. Some credentials, ebay feedback, reputation from other forums would be nice... Edit: these seem legit even if grossly overpriced... http://www.gamesstationretro.com/product_info.php?products_id=2772 http://www.gamesstationretro.com/product_info.php?products_id=2747 http://www.gamesstationretro.com/product_info.php?products_id=2748 Edited April 12, 2015 by stardust4ever
high voltage
Wow $90 would be more realistic, with those prices above probably they'd sell better on Nintendoage
Giltygear
8 posts, selling super-expensive REPRODUCTIONS... How this hasn't gotten flagged/deleted/shit on is nothing short of a miracle. GLWTS!
jetset
8 posts, selling super-expensive REPRODUCTIONS... How this hasn't gotten flagged/deleted/shit on is nothing short of a miracle. GLWTS! Because it's a 50/50 as to whether people will bite. I've seen plenty of times a new user will little or no rep offer something (often at ridiculous prices), and half the rest of the discussion is "PM Sent". If these were something people wanted they'd throw caution to the wind and start doling out money. Kind of baffling really.
atari181
I don't think he can even post in his own thread now as AL changed the rules to a minimum of 10 posts to post in the Marketplace. IMO I would like it to be at least 50 posts to sell items.
Andromeda Stardust
If anybody really is desparate to own these at the inflated prices in question, I suggest following the links to the in my previous post to the website where these repros are actually sold. To me, the MMC3 "Taito Legends" is hardly worth over $60, but even NintendoAge frowns on multicart repros of rare games for the sake of owning rarity. At those prices listed, a Powerpak or Everdrive would be cheaper. The Super Mario multicart can still be had from other sources. I would likewise price the "25th Anniversary" cart at $40 loose, possibly $60 complete. Ditto for the Adventure Island. If this guy attempting to flip these was the owner, he would link to the site. Otherwise, I see either scam or buyer's remorse written all over the OP. That he has not returned to defend himself should speak volumes. 7800fan
Those are probably not his own real pictures. Google image searches shows many hits on one web site: http://www.gamesstationretro.com/index.php?cPath=21_31_147 Same background pattern but user ID doesn't seem like there's any connection. I broke that up for you. Your sentence was part of the url. But yeah I didn't think about the backdrop having gamestation written over it. OP probably doesn't even own the carts. Weird how the seller's been a member since 2010 but only has 8 posts. I did an AA search on him but it won't pull up posts older than one year. EDIT: Got it! Thanks Google... http://atariage.com/forums/user/28104-carlo3do/?tab=recentActivity Aside from smoking an otherwise perfectly good PAL Colecovision in 2011, he hasn't done much with his acount over the years except to pop in once or twice trying to flip a high dollar item. bigal322012
I've known Carlo for quite sometime now and I know he's being selling retro video games for over 14 years now so I'm pretty sure that the guy is not trying to scam anyone. The only reason why he's not here to defend him self is because he's unable to reply to this thread for some reason. I would also like to point out that carlo is the owner of games station retro which is a physical shop located here in beirut ,the shop has also around 20 arcade machines, he also has some feedback on amibay.com and on nintendo age Edited April 13, 2015 by bigal322012

Chris Leach
No crapping on the thread but was surprised to learn $150 for the games and when I showed interested just to see the inner working I was told the price they received was to be $150 which suggests I am paying $150 plus the fees or paypal gift for the items? I'm no longer interested but would like to own all three just to own them. I must add I purchased a ninja gaiden trilogy cart for far less than the asking price here. The wiring inside is tricky nice but I have no box. The boxes in these pics look to be plastic shells. I easily pay $45 50$ for a cardboard box leaving the game priced $75? Not too bad actually .... It's not that anyone is trying to crap on the guy. Most loose repros currently in production range from $25-$50, typically about $40 median for NES and SNES. Most CIB repros currently in production range about $60-$80. Most I've ever personally paid for a loose repro cart was $60 on two occasions, once for RetroUSB Pirate Booty and once for Earthbound Uncut from RetroQuest shortly before they closed shop. Now I can see buying a limited edition reproduction for $150-$200 long after it has been discontinued, but I question the pricing tier of these games. Even repro carts with custom mappers and new PCB is much cheaper generally. This individual can choose to price his merchandise at a high value few collectors will pay for. But as a matter of economics, these repros have a fixed cost known only to the maker. Reducing the price point will bring in many more sales while reducing the profit margin per item, but at $150-$200 a piece he may be pricing himself out of the market. I simply don't believe it's worth paying more than the price of a flash cart for a bootleg multicart with a handful of games. I could possibly see a handful of Taito Treasures selling a few copies at $200 a piece to fill holes in collectors desperate to own something tangible, but honestly for me the value simply isn't there. Nutsy Doodleheimer
I'd be interested in the Mario All Stars NES repro cart. But I ain't paying no $150 for that. That is just absurd. And you need to have 10 posts minimum to post in the marketplace. However I agree with Atari181. I think it should be 50.

Nutsy Doodleheimer
Well you should build one for yourself then. I am happy with my own NES Mario all star set. :-) Super Mario Bros, Vs. Super Mario Bros (arcade version), The lost levels, Super Mario Bros Special, Mario 2, and Mario 3. If it was a more reasonable price I'd buy it.
