Super Game Module Schematics

Hello all.

 

Does anyone know if the schematics for the Suoer Game Module has ever been released? Would be great to have these so that others could build one without waiting on production runs.

You could re-create the schematics. Keep in mind that you'd also need to re-create the CPLD code.

Ah, didn't know it use CPLD. Either way, would be nice to have schematics, code, etc so others could build. Seems like a great project.

Find the schematics for the ADAM Expansion Module #3, strip everything out except the extra memory and then add in the alternate sound chip that is used in the SGM.

Is that basically what it is? More RAM and another SN76488 (or clone)? Not that isn't great. :-)

You could make your one for less than 15usd.

There were numerous versions of the SGM made by Opcode throughtout all the years of development, but yes, the final released version that was finally made adds extra RAM to the CV like the ADAM does (no need to reinvent the wheel and best to keep things compatible) as well as the second sound chip option.

 

Insuring compatibility was a very important decision by Opcode and the reason why numerous SGM games work on the ADAM without the SGM.

 

With all that said, the finished product with box is a thing of beauty and you should make ever attempt possible to acquire one.

I would love to aquire one. But I don't think they are made any more are they?

 

Another reason I would like the schematics is that I would like to build some modules myself. Not unlike the SGM but not like it either. I'd like to experiment with putting a SID chip on there using the SIDCog running on a propeller.

I did a while back. From what I read he is MIA.

I sent him a pre-order about a month or so ago and it looks like I at least made the current list, so there is some hope to getting one.
