Atari 2600 light sixer AV mod help..

Hi everyone.

I have a good 2600 light six that had RF out and it was really not bad..very clean unit...But wanted AV out...

I got the mod from,coolretroprojects.com

It's the ntsc video out and pause board.

I followed instructions perfectly..pause works perfectly.. Video out is worse much worse then RF. Audio is clear.

I talked many times to John at cool retro with little help.

All parts removed perfectly and cleanly.

All new board added right no bad solder or shorts..I bought 2 units from, him and was going to mod a 2nd unit but afraid too as video is so poor .. Anyone have a suggestion?

I May just have to put RF back.. Again did clean uninstall so all parts ok..none cut..but I did have to cut one trace on motherboard so I would have to follow it and replace with a jumper wire.

Any ideas as to why video is worse then RF when RF was not bad originally

Thanks all

It could just be the video mod. There are lots of different ones to choose from that tend to alter the video output in different ways. You could try using the mod board on a different Atari to see if yours just doesn't want to be modded, or ask for a refund and buy a different mod from somewhere else. I have modded a couple of Ataris with the Batari video mod that has stereo out, composite and s-video. The site that I bought mine from is http://electronicsentimentalities.com/index.html if you want to take a look at it.
