+BeefMan #1 Posted April 3, 2003 Anyone else ever noticed how much smoother the animation is for the prehistoric combatants when you have two of the same characters fighting? The game speed seems to be a bit quicker as well. Give it a try, its a pretty significant difference.
ZylonBane #2 Posted April 3, 2003 Yes, we've noticed. Normally the game has to split RAM between two different characters, but when both characters are the same, it uses the extra RAM to load twice as many frames of animation. An interesting feature in an otherwise barely-competent port (curse you, Probe!).
t.skid #3 Posted April 4, 2003 I like Primal Rage.. It's a good port for me.
ZylonBane #4 Posted April 4, 2003 When I first booted up Primal Rage, and that block of stone fell onto the screen... and a second later it went "thump", I knew I was in the presence of some serious quality workmanship.

Ze_ro #6 Posted April 4, 2003 Losing all the combo ability that the arcade version had killed it... having to load for the fatalities didn't help either. Aside from that, I thought the animation (even with two different characters) was very nice. --Zero

Thunderbird #8 Posted April 4, 2003 Ok, you don't like PR Zylon Bane doesn't like much of anything, as far as i can tell. It's the side effect of that electro-shock therapy... :-(
ZylonBane #10 Posted April 5, 2003 Zylon Bane doesn't like much of anything, as far as i can tell. Tell harder. And bear Sturgeon's Law in mind. Shirley I'm not the only one here old enough to remember how infamous Probe was for producing shoddy arcade translations.
