+BeefMan #1 Posted April 3, 2003 Remember towards the end of Tramiel owned Atari that they tried releasing a few Jaguar exclusive titles for the PC? I know for a fact that Tempest 2000 was one of these games. But I swear to god that one of those games was Highlander and I could have sworn I seen that game for sale at a local EB once upon a time. Does anyone know if the same Highlander for the JagCD was released on the PC? I enjoyed the hell out of that game and wouldn't mind owning the PC version as well if it in fact does exist. Does anyone know if any other titles were released?
K3V #2 Posted April 3, 2003 I know a few other games were planned for PC release. Don Thomas auctioned off a few of the Atari Interactive discs on eBay a while back. I picked up a Baldies "Preview" disc, which seems like the final game, pretty much. I think there was a Rocky Horror Picture Show game and something else, but I'm not sure. -Kevin
GOVmole #3 Posted April 4, 2003 no, im pretty sure there was never a port of highlander for PC, even though I have never played highlander on jag cd. maybe i should check it out considering you enjoyed it so much.
JagMX #4 Posted April 4, 2003 has anyone played Max Nerf Force?. I remember seeing pix for the JagCD version, and then ofcourse when it didnt come out and atari went to Hasbro, i saw it come out in stores during the Hasbro era i think.
AtariX #5 Posted April 6, 2003 Highlander is one of my fav Jag games. I was bumed when the Jag died an early death and the Highlander trilogy was never finished.
Stone #6 Posted April 6, 2003 I loved Highlander while I was playing it...got very frustrated tho, as I got 'trapped' in about the middle of the canyons section. Basically, I came upon a segment with 2/3 soldiers advancing towards you just as you cross the boundary into the next screen, having just been on a rope bridge. I thought that if I retreated back across the bridge they'd follow me and I could fight them one-on-one... Actually what happened was that they all stopped at the boundary between the two screens and beat on me quite severely if I tried to cross. Which sucked. My most up-to-date savegame was about an hour's play back of that as well So I gave up...I'll go back to it one day Stone
JagChris #7 Posted April 6, 2003 I could never get past the end of the canyon area in Highlander. Where U have some kind of puzzle thingey you come across with the red, green and blue levels, dial,s switches, whatever. Moot point, my brother stepped on the cd and broke it. AtariX #8 Posted April 6, 2003 It has been years since I played Highlander all the way through. I think on the red, green and blue puzzle, it shows what the level of the colors need to be somewhere in that bunker or one bunker close by. You need to tell your brother that you WILL have a new Highlander, or else in the end, there will be only one brother. j/k Stone, way to go, the Dundee's were counting on you. How long have the Dundee's been enslaved now? Your mother died in vain as well, sad.
kevincal #9 Posted April 6, 2003 OMG Highlander...I get my a$$ royally beat everytime I try to play this game...It reminds me of those dreams where you feel like you're fighting someone in slow-motion and underwater at the same time...lmao...
+Saturn #10 Posted April 6, 2003 I tried to play Highlander once. As soon as I started playing I saw a dude walking toward me and since I didn't have a clue what to do, I thought,"Well, I'll just ask this kindly gent where to go..." He subsequently beat me to death as I spun wildly in circles trying to escape...

kevincal #12 Posted April 7, 2003 I must add that the character models in Highlander have GOT to be the ugliest 3d models ever!!! Virtua fighter 1 characters look like DOA characters in comparison...someday I'll have to master the controls and beat this game though...the back grounds are nicely done however
Atari_Owl #13 Posted April 7, 2003 Finally got the Memory Track and i have to say i absolutely ADORE this game. Its probably my favourite of all the Jag games. But then i'm still quite early in the game and haven't had time to get fed up with it yet. 3D models are a bit ugly, agreed, but the fighting and swordplay and tactics i love. t.skid #14 Posted April 7, 2003 Don't you think controls are a little odd? It took sometimes to learn how to move
Stone #15 Posted April 7, 2003 Don't you think controls are a little odd? It took sometimes to learn how to move Yes As for wandering up to the kindly gent, that's what the manual is for! You're supposed to know that you're in the middle of your burned-down-by-evil-dictator-type-chappie village, and that the guys wearing green are bad...mind you, the intro video would do that too Stone
Atari_Owl #16 Posted April 8, 2003 Sure the controls are a little odd at first and it takes a little time to turn, but once you get the hang of them, and in particular get the sword from the stone circle i think its great. I loved going back to the village and killing the guys i'd had to avoid earlier then realising that two against one at the front gate was bad so going around the back and sneaking up on them one at a time. Question here: Theres a guy with a sword in one of the huts. I killed him, but i couldn't find anything worthwhile in the hut. WHat did i miss?
