I've sold off pretty much all my tg16 and PCE games and am in the process of offloading my duo... but now reading this thread I'm not sure I want to get rid of it.

You bastards! Lol. Time to log some hours in Ys 3

I went through that twice. First in '96 and then again in '03. I won't do it again. This time around, I will keep everything until the day I am gone. What happens is that you get that itch to play those games again and these days it will be expensive as hell to re-acquire them.

Saw this today. Looks great. Just not sure I want to pay that much... (I'm broke anyway...)

https://twitter.com/StoneAgeGamer/status/673928573032472576

The shell is expensive, adding $40, but still much cheaper than $150+

I used the cheaper Shapeways shell option, which unfortunately does not fit the TED v2.

Nice! I played the shizzle out of Blazing Lazers on my TG-16 last week. First game, got to the stage 2 end boss. Second game, got to the stage six end boss! :o

Scored well over a million on the middle game. I'll post a screen cap of my score later. I and my friend were both dumbfounded. Sadly early on I had wasted a couple of continues letting my friend play. He got his ass handed.

Paused it for the night on the continue screen and turned off the TV. Next day, third continue, made it to stage seven end boss...

Holy crap, was stage seven intense! It was like a remixed stage 1 on steroids. Most memorable would have to be stage four with the giant brains, and one stage (I forget which) having an epic boss that spewed spiders. Also the insane amount of sprites on stage seven is beyond comprehension. At 4x the clock speed of NES, twice the clock speed of SNES, I am proud to say there was zero slowdown anywhere in the game.

Don't know how I ever got that far, but my SHMUP skills have improved the more I play, a lot!

That's Excellent Stardust. Maybe in the future, you can make a video on YouTube or do a live stream of you in action on your TG-16! :)

Did you do the trick where you dodge the first boss until he disappears, to get 30+ guys, a bunch of bombs, and a bunch of respawns (wish the game would show how many you have)?

What I've done before on Blazing Lazers is get the IV weapon up to full power (four of the balls circling ship in a circle), then get to the mid-stage boss on the level that looks like it's inside some alien. The mid-boss is essentially just several "eyes" that continually spit out eyeballs that home in on your position. There is a spot near the bottom of the screen, kind of just off to one side, where you can just sit there and let the eyeballs come to you, killing themselves on the balls rotating your ship, giving you points. I found this and would play to this spot, then set the controller down and turn off the TV, go to bed, go to school the next day, come back to a huge point total and extra men. You do have to be careful, because sometimes an eyeball will get through to you, but if you're in the right place, they won't.

And yeah, I guess it is cheating... lol

Funny.. I have just come to remember.. I used to be able to beat Blazing Lazers on 1 life too! It's just been so long (decades at this point) that I forgot I had that ability  Using and maintaining shields is the key.

Last time I played, I finally bested the Stage 6 boss and made it to the end of Stage 7 after using using multiple continues, and holy cow it gets hard. Stage 7 is basically Stage 1 on steroids, most insane level so far... :o

I think my favorite stage so far besides 7 is the one with the giant brains. Least favorite is the desert level with the flipping pyramids. Dodging those is doable but annoying...

I gotta take another whack at stage 7. I wish there was a cheat or hack to warp there. I misplaced my Blazing Lazers case somehow so it looks like I'll be playing it again on the Everdrive... :P

Hey everyone. Over the weekend, I posted a video review of one of my favorite games for the Turbo Duo, Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes. I had not seen any video reviews of this game before, which was surprising. Well, I hope you like it.

Thanks

Say Neo,

Would be interested on doing Fighting Street for the CD unit? That had a great soundtrack and the port from Street Fighter was just as good! :)
