It's way faster than that. I tested with Space Harrier as well. Did you know that in PC Engine Space Harrier there is a limit to how many shots you can have on screen? I just learned this now with the mini. Can't have the max number of shots on screen at once on a real PC Engine. Now that I think about it, the last game I tested on the SuperGrafx was Space Harrier, which doesn't work in SuperGrafx mode. I need to go turn the SuperGrafxness back on before I forget... CZroe #2053 Posted April 30, 2020 Well, the mini's controllers are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG that if you get a mini I don't think you'll have a problem with that! After some more testing, it seems that in Dragon Spirit, the mini's middle turbo switch setting is about as fast as the original controller's highest setting. The mini's fastest setting is really insane. I'm definitely not complaining about the speed increase because I think it's great! Maybe it's because the originals are 30+ years old now, but I wish my real controllers were this fast! The d-pad is still crap, but perhaps it will break in or something.Yeah hopefully they will break in. That's always been a thing. I got Killer Instinct Gold at-launch in 1996 which was so soon after the N64 launch that I didn't have a full set of controllers yet. As I added controllers I'd always notice that I could do certain moves first try on the old pads but found it almost impossible on the new ones... until they'd break in. It was usually those super moves that requires a half-circle then back across. If you ever saw me switch to the thumbstick mid-match, that was why! Too bad Gamecube controllers don't really break in, though. Those just break. I guess I'll play Rondo again with this new controller to see if I can break in the d-pad. Hopefully there will be a meaningful change! Edited April 30, 2020 by Steven Pendleton

Rick Dangerous #2056 Posted April 30, 2020 I need help with another item. Is anyone aware of a contact who creates/sells replacement hu-card cases (the CD jewel case style.) I have a few loose Hu-Cards i'd like to case up. I FOUND someone on Etsy who was making them, then they banned all the vid game shops and now i can't find them.... 😢 Thanks so much in advance! Rick Dangerous #2059 Posted April 30, 2020 Thanks! This is exactly what i was looking for! Who threw these out back in the day i mean really? I can understand cardboard boxes but these? Apparently a lot of people judging by the amount of loose Hu cards on ebay...
+GoldenWheels #2060 Posted April 30, 2020 I mean it requires a little work but I average about 4-5$ per replacement huey case. You just buy a near worthless PC-E game, chuck the game and instructions (I still have a pile somewhere) and scrape the stickers off. And they look "right" instead of being 3d printed (which is a great tech to have but always stands out to me). Being lazy, I sometimes leave the "wrong" circle sticker on the back and just remove the spine label...and my advice there is, soak the edge for a while in water, just let it sit in a bowl. Then exacto through the grid plastic on the back to remove MOST of it on the BACK. The rest on the SPINE is usually so soft by then you can fingernail it off. Racing/Mah jong/role playing games on ebay are often dirt cheap, especially in lots. By doing it this way you also often get another huey sleeve (which, being 30 years old and from Japan, sure it will likely be yellow/sticky and smell like cigarettes). Etsy banned game shops?! Crazy. I was knocking around some ideas about some of my own stuff I could offer there. Anyway, I have a small 3D print farm but never got around to trying any of the HuCard case designs I see around. I recall one saying that they only worked with a particular brand of CD case door, so I might need to make some tweaks and variations when I get around to doing my own collection. Iterating the design doesn't appeal to me but if I get it to work I'll let you know.

I was just there not long ago looking at getting Sonic 3 Complete on a real cart, the only bootleg I would have ever wanted. TurboExpress is super tasty and I really want a PC Engine GT! How much was it? I think the TurboExpress is pretty expensive now, especially one that nice.

There is like some weird sticky crap on the back sides of my copies of both Madou King Granzort and Battle Ace. Madou King Granzort is a bit worse, I think. Aldynes is totally fine, and since I got it from Mandarake, they put the game inside its own little plastic sleeve that they made and then put that inside the regular sleeve. I'm guessing this is the whole melting HuCARD sleeve thing that I heard about before I started getting into PC Engine, so I am guessing I should probably throw those 2 sleeves away and get new ones, shouldn't I? The PCE-CD core I'm talking about is being implemented by Srg320. The same guy who implemented SNES and Mega CD cores on MiSTer. What is really cool is he's not simply adding CD support, but basically rebuilding the PCE's CPU and VDP in the main core as well, so the overall core will be much more accurate.

Yep, but my MiSTer has never worked properly and I can't get any controllers to work with it now after the recent update (1 exception: PS4 controller, and even then the d-pad doesn't work in the system menu), so I'll just continue to use the SuperGrafx + SSDS3. I figured the "brag post" would kinda draw attention to the fakes, let people know how to find good deals, and spread awareness of how things really are before more of us get burned so I was happy to set the record straight. I saw his post more as an opportunity to explain it better and he seemed to accept it once I did. When I got my first copy Riley Rolls, Kyle P, and other experts really helped me verify and I figure it's best to spread that kind of info around. Fair enough, and Riley there I think he's more of a grifter than someone who cares given his antics I've seen over time in a couple groups. Not to say he isn't helpful, it's not just blind selling game there, but either way... In all fairness I owned it once, just don't want to sink the money into it again, and after that Rob Nava guy gave me a free copy of the game as he did a total blu ray walkthrough of it using PCE Works as the distributor. The package they still sell it, has the english translated(voice too) version of the game with the blu ray, pretty nice. I know to some overkill zealots PCEW is satan but I really don't care, it's a fair choice.

Maybe we should head over to the MiSTer thread, but I think it would be fine here. So basically I'm having a few issues with it. First, basically none of the controllers that used to work now work on it except the PS4 controller, and the d-pad doesn't work at all in menus but it works fine in games. Even if I do not map the analog stick at all, it works in the menus, but the d-pad doesn't. How strange! No other controllers work at all. I can configure them, but they literally do not work at all outside of the configuration menu. Next, the audio skips upon first booting any core for the first sound that the first game makes, but only through the HDMI and only on the first game. The headphone jack is perfectly normal. My components are DE10-Nano, 128 RAM, Noctua fan, and IO board. I also have a micro USB to USB-A converter so I can plug in a controller.
