thank you

:) very grateful for response

so no generic type of thing like RUN "DSK1.FIRST"

or something like that?

just asking

No, look at the filenames on the disk to find what you want.

Or run a generic loader program like BOOT or DM2K to catalog the disk and pick the program you want to load.

:)

thanks

is there a "LIST" command that would show me the contents of the .dsk currently in the "machine"

thanks

Not in plain old vanilla Extended Basic. In Extended Basic v2.5 or v2.7 you can do a CALL CAT("DSK1.") to get a directory of the disk. I think RXB may also have a similar CALL, but I'm not certain.

If you use the HFDC in MESS you can use CALL DIR(1).

I don't remember that! When I had my real hardware, I had 2 PEBs. The Geneve was with the Myarc HFDC. The TI was connected with a CorComp FDC. I may never have tested that with the TI.

This will save me a lot of time in MESS.

As sometimes99 already suggested you should consider to download TIImageTool. This tool is particularly useful for MESS users because it makes working with images a lot easier (view files, copy between images, create new images, set up Geneve boot disks ...) - in my humble view as its author. ;-)
