Video_Invader #1 Posted April 30, 2015 Came home yesterday only to find out I had been robbed. They too all my electronics including all my video games. Guess they needed them more than I did. Now I have nothing to do and all my collecting down the drain.
glazball #3 Posted April 30, 2015 Yea shit.... so sorry to hear. Did they take your modern or classic or both? Do you have homeowners or renters insurance? Hopefully the police can find the bastards and get your stuff back!
Torr #4 Posted April 30, 2015 Wow, that sucks so bad... just reading the thread title made me wince a little, and to hear you lost them THAT way... double shitty.

ClassicGMR #6 Posted April 30, 2015 Keep an eye on Craigslist and eBay the next few weeks.
Nutsy Doodleheimer #8 Posted April 30, 2015 Man!!! That sucks, I am so sorry to hear that. You have homeowners or renters insurance? I hope karma bites these A-holes in the ass!
Zenimus #9 Posted April 30, 2015 Oh my god, that's awful!! Keep a sharp eye on local pawn shops, flea markets, and Craigslist ads. Odds are the thieves are gonna want to flip that stuff quickly. Get a police report too with as detailed a list as you can. Also, if you had any unique items or games with unusual markings on them, put an eBay search for them and we might be able to catch the thief.
Turbo-Torch #10 Posted April 30, 2015 Damn. What's your location and what was taken? The community can keep a look out for your items on places like CL and eBay.
+save2600 #11 Posted April 30, 2015 Happened to my brother a few years back. Had renters insurance though, so was largely covered cash wise.
7800fan #12 Posted May 1, 2015 Hope whoever took it is an idiot and shows off everything to sell where you can make positive ID as your own stuff. What state do you live in? Some states like Michigan is full of people here and it would be very hard for a criminal to sell a large lot without everyone knowing it was stolen from you. 1982VideoGames #13 Posted May 1, 2015 Yikes, sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can get back your favorites soon.
Keatah #14 Posted May 1, 2015 What if they sell it to GameStop?
Torr #15 Posted May 1, 2015 (edited) What if they sell it to GameStop? Not really a joking matter... but I will anyway. If they DO sell their pilfered goods to GameStop, they'll be equally ripped off so it'll be kinda square! *edit* Seriously though... a fire, a flood, so many ways to lose a collection... but having it stolen?, my panties would be in such a bunch... Video_Invader #16 Posted May 1, 2015 Im in Arkansas. Old, new, they took everything. I filed a report but they flat out told me not to expect much. No proof. Insurance lapsed several months ago after mom passed away and so im not covered for anything. Dumb on my part. Never had this happen before.
Keatah #17 Posted May 1, 2015 This is just as bad as stealing a man's toolbox.

+frankodragon #20 Posted May 1, 2015 It might be a good idea to check out some of the game businesses on Facebook as well. So far in Arkansas there's Game Traders, Greenback Games, Game Ever, Game Room Trading Post and Double Header- depending where you live.
Omega-TI #21 Posted May 1, 2015 Damn! Considering how much time, effort and devotion a person can put into a personal collection over a lifetime that can be devastating. I'm so sorry for your loss.
Rev #22 Posted May 1, 2015 not to pry, but did you know the approx value of your combined collection? (real value, not inflated ebay buy it now prices hehe) does anyone think 'we' are too trusting on public forums and ebay. not to say a fellow collector did it. it was probably random? was anything else stolen? or JUST your games? Keatah #23 Posted May 1, 2015 was anything else stolen? or JUST your games? Came home yesterday only to find out I had been robbed. They took all my electronics including all my video games. Guess they needed them more than I did. Now I have nothing to do and all my collecting down the drain. -- That would be bastardized if a collector heisted the stuff. But I don't think that's the case. They took other items too. This could be sold out of a van or in a housing project. Sometimes people wait a long time to post things, so it might not show up immediately. Shit, they might wait out the statute of limitations! It might even be private one-on-one sales. So it may never go through ebay or craigslist. Or the beginnings of another collection for somebody else. You just don't know.. Did the police take fingerprints? Did they take photos? Did they do any investigation? Or'd they just have a cop come and fill out papers?
lucifershalo #24 Posted May 1, 2015 can you put a list of what you lost and so looking for again? I am in Belgium so not close by, but if I have something for sale that you are looking for, i will sell it at a reduced price as much as I can....
BydoEmpire #25 Posted May 1, 2015 Insurance lapsed several months ago after mom passed away and so im not covered for anything. That sucks, sorry to hear that. Probably doesn't make you feel better, but it *is* just stuff, and stuff can be replaced. I hope things work out eventually.
