Firefox acting wonky in MAME...

Recommended Posts

So for a couple of reasons I need to play Firefox by, ohh....tomorrow night...and I'm having a helluva time getting the ROM working.

The game itself actually loads and everything, but the scenery from the laserdisc isn't rendering, so I basically have text and a black screen. The way it's loading makes it pretty much unplayable.

I've tried three different versions of MAME (0.155, 0.159, and 0.161) on two different computers with the same results.

Anybody else have that same issue and know any way to fix it?? I've tried it on a late-2007 MacBook running Lion (4gb RAM) and a mid-2011 iMac running Yosemite (16gb RAM). As a very, extremely last resort I MAY try my work computer (a Lenovo ThinkPad running Winblows 7)...

Only thing I can think is that the .chd file might be corrupt, but something tells me MAME wouldn't even touch that if it were the case. Also, I really don't want to download 12,634,225,671 bytes all over again!

AHA.....GOT IT!!!!

Turns out that, at least on my iMac's MAME installation, there are two MAME bins: one "mame," and another "mame64." "mame" doesn't run the FIrefox CHD....but "mame64" does! ahhhh....now to just get it to recognize the Bluetooth trackpad as a mouse...
