My Console/Computer Wish List

I have a ton of consoles/computers in my collection, the ones I'll be looking for are:

 

Atari XEGS

 

Commodore 64

 

TI-99

 

TurboGrafx-16

 

NeoGeo

 

Coleco Adam

 

and Atari ST.

 

I know, they're mostly computers. But hey, they still play games.

I wouldn't mind a XEGS and C64GS, way back in the 90s I've seen them second hand cib for GBP 10 or cheaper. Nowadays that's impossible.

AtarinDave: Out of curiosity, do you have a list/link to what you already got? Besides, if you're looking to buy, perhaps a post in the Marketplace would be better suited.

 

Personally, right now I'm not looking for anything for my own sake. I might be looking for a few systems for buying to our association, if the price is right.

I don't think there's a single game machine I want right now, except the XM and SGM. After those, I have all I want.

Not to sound meh but I'll never understand why anyone would ever want an XEGS - I owned one and as much as I love Atari, thought it was bulky and pointless considering the other options.

 

Why not just go with a 65XE/130XE?

This is the moment to collect for the Original Xbox. It is just old enough that nobody wants it and not so old that it is cool again. You can probably get 3 units for $50 if you look on your local craigslist. Sort ebay results by distance closest to you and someone will probably have one there too that you can go pick up and avoid shipping.

Yeah, considering the 800XL/130XE are smaller, have the same or more memory, and are more common/cheaper, I don't get the desire for the XEGS besides being a completist.

Not to mention modding it with emulators!! Xboxes are dirt cheap! Anyways, I have all the consoles that I want actually. But, I would love to get my hands on a Fairchild Channel F in the future. Thing that stands inthe way is they are pretty tough to find especially on ebay, expensive for one in great condition and in working order, and also they have reliability issues. Overheating is one of the main ones in malfunctioning. I love the controlers too!!

The original X Box is amazing especially when they're modded to play every Genesis and NES game in existence. It's like having several consoles and complete game libraries in one.

Nice!! Same here!! I have all the console emulators, about every rom including mame and neo geo mvs games Installed on it. Is yours hardmodded or soft modded? I have mine hardmodded with the Xecuter 3 chip and 500 gb hard drive. Oh and for the Famicom. The Sharp Twin Fammy is the way to go. I have one and always wanted these puppies. IMO - Pleasuredome.UK is still the best place to go for roms and such, however if anyone knows if there is someone like Romhunter for NES, SNES, Gameboy, SMS, Genesis, please let me know.

Sounds rad! lol I'm good with PayPal and if you can actually work out a monthly payment plan for a Neo Geo for me that would be soo awesome. I can definitely afford paying one off through PayPal on a monthly basis. I want one of those sooo bad!!!!! lol I need to play World Heroes 2.

Actually never had a modded X Box myself,but will be looking out for one now thinking about it. Back in 2003 I had a friend who's older brother had one modded to play every NES,Genesis,and nearly every MAME game in existence lol,it was soo rad. I even remember playing a few homebrews on it.

 

And yes I am gonna be getting a Sharp Twin soon as well. My goal is to collect every console that was ever made! I actually had this goal since 2005. Sounds impossible because there are tons of obscure consoles from different countries which people aren't aware of.

I forgot to mention the Amiga. It's the one classic computer besides a Commodore that I want still. It's just so pricey to get into.

The Xbox is a bit superfluous, though. There aren't really that many exclusives to make it worth collecting for, unless you just like to collect. The best of the Xbox is divided between the PC (Halo, Fable) and PS2 (nearly all else), leaving only a couple of games for it, like Panzer Dragoon Orta, Sudeki, and Phantom Dust. Some "exclusives" like Ninja Gaiden Black are remade elsewhere, while others like "Conker" are remakes themselves. Many of them are mediocre at best.

 

The good exclusive games just aren't enough to justify having that huge system take up space. Meanwhile, my PS2 slim takes up as much space as a DVD case.

 

It'll probably come down to taste, though.

A need an upgrade at CoCo1, and maybe Aquarius (I suspect mine has RAM issues), otherwise I'm mainly looking at accessories and parts right now:

Atari 410 belts
Atari 810 disk drive
Apple IIe keyboard w/ brown-gray keycaps with white characters (all mine are the lighter gray with black characters)
Amber monitor, composite or CGA

I would like a nice 386 desktop with an EGA card, too. As far as consoles go, I'm currently interested (although not too seriously) in NeoGeo CD and -- god help me -- Atari Jaguar. I'd love an Astrocade, but I've been burned on them too many times. They're the most suicidal consoles I've ever seen.

And one of these days I need to get my DINA 2-in-One repaired and AV modded.
