Small flat panel TV for Atari?

Recommended Posts

I would like to find a small flat panel TV that I can use with my Atari in my shop on my workbench. Small is the watchword. I'm thinking of something around 8-11" that at least has a composite input that works with our A8. A portable DVD player would be fine, so long as it has inputs. Or any other viable display methods -- I have several laptops with USB-2.

Any suggestions?

I tried a number of 5-7in. LCDs and did not like them. Finally got a 13in. LCD TV that I can also use on a 400 or 600XL thru the tuner. Much better...

What did you get, and how long ago? It seems really tough to find anything less than about 18" now unless you get down to those 7" (or so).

A Supersonic - about a year ago. Model number is SC-1311. Tuner, HDMI, Component, VGA, Composite - everything but S-Video.

$110, or so. Not bad.

I ended up with a 15" Proscan HD 720P from Amazon that has composite, but no S-video. A little bigger than I wanted, but does have a nice display of the A8. It does have the normal composite artifacts, but it surprisingly (to me) lacks the somewhat fuzzy picture that I normally find with composite from the Atari. And all this from a stock XE -- no video mods. Anyway, this will do well for my workbench, and for $110, not too bad.
