Shift838 #1 Posted June 23, 2015 Does anyone have one or 2 extra cartridge port springs they would be willing to part with? My cartridge port spring is broken and and port will not go back up after you pull a cartridge. Thanks,
Plastik #2 Posted June 23, 2015 If you have a ACE or True Value hardware store near you they have very small springs about the size of the one in the cartridge hinge. I know mine by me does at least.

+OLD CS1 #4 Posted June 23, 2015 While you are there, ask your TruValue guys if they have a deep dark corner of their warehouse where they might have some TI stuff stashed.
Shift838 #5 Posted June 23, 2015 While you are there, ask your TruValue guys if they have a deep dark corner of their warehouse where they might have some TI stuff stashed. The thing is they may! I remember seeing stores that had no computer area whatsoever sell TI related items when I was a kid.
Shift838 #6 Posted June 23, 2015 (edited) Also if anyone that has a spare and cannot give it up if I could get a measurements of the spring (length and diameter while compressed would be great). Edited June 23, 2015 by Cschneider
Plastik #7 Posted June 23, 2015 You are in luck as I'm currently dismantling and cleaning a Ti I got at the flea market for a fiver. Hope this helps.

I believe I found some that will work even though they are 2mm longer, but should work: HERE Edited June 23, 2015 by Cschneider
TI-GAMER #9 Posted June 23, 2015 (edited) While you are there, ask your TruValue guys if they have a deep dark corner of their warehouse where they might have some TI stuff stashed. LOL... +OLD CS1 #10 Posted June 23, 2015 LOL... I assume you referring to Zach That has to be the luckiest TI guy ever!!! Kind-of. Him and one other guy, but I think he got the bigger of the share. But I was thinking that if one had them then maybe others. I know when our local Montgomery Wards closed in 2000 they found some TI stuff and put it out on the clearance shelves. Sadly nothing uncommon and definitely not good for the price.
UKRetrogamer #11 Posted June 24, 2015 Thanks! I believe I found some that will work even though they are 2mm longer, but should work: HERE With these types of spring, I've found that if you use snips to cut-off the ring at one end, then insert a hobby-knife a couple of loops in, you can bend up the coils to 90 degrees to make a new loop. The trick is finding one of similar tension to the original. I've fixed a TRS-80 Deluxe joystick using this method. The joystick is a little stiffer than it used to be but works better than it has in ages!
