Question About Bidding on Game Gavel

Recommended Posts

I am new at bidding on games and placed a bid on Game Gavel for the Atari 2600 game Star Wars Arcade Game. The min bid was $9.99. I bid $9.99 and set my max bid at $19.99. I ended up being the highest bidder but did not win the auction because the "reserve was not met." Does this mean I did not bid what the seller wanted to sell the game for? If that's the case, why don't they just put that as the min bid? How am I supposed to "mind-read" and give the seller what they want if I don't know what that is?! Personally I think it's a bunch of crap and mind games that the min bid doesn't reflect the min of what the seller wants!

So in the meantime, is there anyone out there with an extra copy of the game that want to sell it here?

It's fairly normal in auctions of all types. A reserve price is the lowest price the item will sell for, but the opening bid can be lower to drive interest.

That was the same person who held the auction I bid on.

Great seller, I have done business with Dennis many times. He probably had the reserve due to GG's low traffic. Try sending him a message here, maybe he will give you a deal.

Yeah Dennis is a top notch seller and great guy to deal with.

I hate reserves too, but I agree if he is using them on game gavel it is because if you don't on there you just would give stuff away....that said I thought he usually had his stuff all bin.
