Help with DSDD Floppy Disk Drive Setup

Recommended Posts

They are not encased fortunately which makes it easier.

If I recall correctly you have to have a resistor pack on the last drive in the chain. So if you are setting this up as DSK3 then it should remain.

It's been a while since I setup the 5.25 drives so maybe someone else can chime in to verify if my memory is working right.

These will be setup internally as Disk 1 and Disk 2 and apparently I need to remove the Resistor Pack from DSK 1 according to the documentation.

yes, that should be correct.

Will you only be having 2 drives?

Yes, just the 2 drives installed in the PEB. I just dont know where the pack is located on the physical drive to remove. (I think thats all I need to do is to remove the pack on DSK 1) Doesnt it work just like a Terminator on a SCSI drive?

The resistor pack needs to be in the last drive at the end of the cable. Does not necessarily need to be drive 2.

Yes. You can pull it from that drive if its not going to be the last one in the cable. If it will be the last drive leave it.

Ralph.
