The Mr. Video
Hi, I'm thinking about buying a ti-99 joystick called the "Super Stik". Are they any good?
+Ksarul
It is actually a quite stable TI joystick. They were built to take the punishment of long use. I just bought a set from eBay because I didn't have a boxed set of them. I've used one of the sets I have now for something like 20 years. . . I wanted to make sure I'm buying a good joystick, mainly because there are very few alternatives. But now that I think about it, pretty much any joystick is better then the first-party Ti-99 joysticks!
TI-GAMER
I prefer the actual WICO Joystick which the "Super Stik" replicates and is trying to imitate . The WICO is built much better than the "Super Stik" but the Super is much better than the Stock TI Joysticks. Wico is still the way to go!!! globeron
Look into the Suzo The Arcade joystick. Single button. very Solid. And has click system for direction. You need the adapter as it has atari d-9 plug.

Shift838
Well I got my Super Stiks in the mail today. and let just say I am very disappointed. They don't work! Or atleast 1/2 of each one does not. 1 will fire while the other will not. 1 will move left and right and not up and down. 1 will move up and down but not left or right. So needless to say i'm not happy.

So needless to say i'm not happy. I got mines this morning. I tested them with all the games in my TI-99 collection. (Which is only 4 games not counting the TI-basic games I have stored on cassette.) For some reason they don't work right on Car wars, but they work just fine on Munch man, TI invaders, and hunt the wumpus. So far, they seem to work.....Key word "seem". Shift838
Maybe I should just make me a couple of arcade style joysticks. I can build 2 of them for less than $50.00 and wire them up for TI or ATARI pinouts. Those will take a beating.. Shift838
i contacted the seller and they said they would take them back. They never tested any of them just assumed they were new since they were in the box. I think they were, but with their age and depending how they were stored could have caused components to fail. So I will be building me a couple of arcade style joysticks with: THIS and THIS I have a couple of ATARI extension cables I don't use I can re-purpose. Just need to decide which enclosure to use.
