Rybags #3 Posted July 8, 2015 Early on there was no "official" way to get a 48K 400, obviously the nice profit margin of the 800 could have suffered if there was though of course 3rd party upgrades were on offer. By 1983 the XL had arrived and they would have wanted to just get rid of the old stocks. By then Ram was getting cheaper as well, some 48K upgrades in fact were 64K and just didn't use the last 16K.
