What do you think of the classic Codemasters adventure formula? No walking eggs here, Seymour is more of a potato.

With an eco disaster story inspired by science fiction novel series La Compagnie des glaces, will this train based combat/exploration game stand up today under scrutiny from Boat and Aaron?

If you like audio only podcasts you can grab that here: https://anchor.fm/amigospodcast

Is this sort of game your sort of thing? Seems like there is a lot to get to grips with.

Very good episode and I enjoyed learning about this immense and immersive game.  Gotta love seeing and learning about so many games that I have never heard of in my life.  Keep up the great work!

For the first review of 2021 the Amigos are taking a look at Knights of the Sky. A little known flight sim set in World War 1.

Very cool episode.  The WW1 sim-types really explored in the early 90s with this title, The Red Baron, Wings, and Warbirds.  Definitely a cool genre and looking forward to seeing what the boys have planned for future installments to come.

Not a bad game for the 'ole Amiga.  Sure, there are other way more popular tile based matching games out there, but this seems to do the trick enough and seems worthy of playing now and then.

Klax, a 90's puzzler that seemed to be everywhere but did people actually play it? How does it STACK up against the likes of Tetris?

Good episode, although I never had much interest in Klax growing up.  Still, the fellas did a good job going over the game and I enjoyed it as always.  Keep up the great work.

Same here, it seemed to be everywhere but I wasn't bothered. Hype machine doing its thing back then perhaps.

Cosmic Pirate has some good aspects to it, but unfortunately it could have been a lot more expansive and/or varied mission wise than what it was.  Definitely a fun looking game that could have been a lot better with more depth/meat to it.

Legends! We are lucky enough to have a couple in Boat and Aaron but these aren't the legends we are looking at today. Released in 1996 could this game hope to compete with its console based inspiration?

As always the audio version is here: https://anchor.fm/amigospodcast

On top of the main review there is the usual look at our new videos and the weekly Amiga News round up.

Next week we being our Second Look series where we revisit games which were reviewed way back when the show was audio only. First up is Super Skidmarks, join us.

Same song, different verse as this is another game that could have been a really great game, but has some egregious errors that make it really not worth taking a really good and/or long look at it.  However, next week's episode sounds fantastic as another look at Super Skidmarks is a good way to start the Second Look series.  Take care and continue the great work gents!

In the first of the Second Look episodes where Boat and Aaron take a look at a game they have reviewed before the show had a video version, the guys get to grips with Super Skidmarks.

I remember this as a fun racer which featured some big jumps and little grip. Oh and it had Minis!

A good game, but again it could have been a lot better.  Still, fun to be had, that's for sure.

Saving the planet is something we should all be concerned with but did this 90s cartoon based game have what it takes to make a difference?

Audio version available here: https://anchor.fm/amigospodcast

This game came bundled with the very popular Cartoon Classics pack in the UK.

This is the pack I bought. For me, this was the least played game in the pack. It looked good but I couldn't figure it out and because it disappointed me on day 1 of Amiga ownership I never looked on it kindly.

Was this the pack you had and what did you think of this compared to the other games in the bundle?

It's a good looking game, but the controller issues seem to hamper it quite a bit.  However, I think it gets killed too much imo.  Definitely I would have been a lot better, but then again, can't we say that about most games, even the one's we love?

First impressions count I guess. Maybe I will give this another try, perhaps I can see past its flaws.

How did Bullfrog improve Populous for its sequel? Join John and Aaron as they find out on the Amiga.
Plus the usual Amiga News roundup and can you guess this weeks supporter song?

Another very good episode from the fellas.  I messed around with the original Populous back in the day and I thought it was a fun game, but I never got much into it.  However, I definitely feel that this is a better and more approachable god game than most.  Definitely keep up the good work and I look forward to episode #300.

Back to the PD library to check out a couple more titles. Let's hope Boat and Aaron picked a couple of quality titles for the Amiga this time round.

The Amiga's PD library is vast, did these titles cross your path?

Very good episode.  Really enjoyed seeing some more good looking PD games on the Amiga.  Also, it was great to see Boat get his foot stuck in his mouth again by saying the Bitmap Brothers were the most overrated on the Amiga.  This gem was followed up from the previous one he left for us a few weeks ago when he said that the Amiga 500 should be left on a deserted island never to return.  That stuff has to go on the end of the year review for sure.
