dstupp618
I need an atari expert to tell me exactly what i have. I got this atari stand from my uncle who said its from the late 70s its about 5 foot tall bottom is black glass the red thing on top is not part of it. I can get better pics too if needed. I would like to know what console or computer belongs on it and how rare it is. Maybe value too. I was told its supposed to have an atari sign on the top too. He said he might have it in his attic but please any info greatly appreciated
Atariman
Although it looks to be different, I quickly found something somewhat similar to it: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/255931191298440754/ Looks like it was probably used when the 400 and 800 computers were being sold? No idea on value. Wish I had one!
Video_Invader
Definitely must be for the computer line they had in the day. I wouldn't mind one for a console like the 5200 but wouldnt have any use for a display for a computer. Decent part of history worth saving. omegadot
Space and decor allowing, it would probably be a neat piece to have out.
RodLightning
Your second photo helps to date the display kiosk you have. It's probably from 1981, as that is the slogan Atari was using for the 400/800 models at the time of this commercial. Your display must be one of the early ones. In the ad, it's interesting how a 400 is prominent, with the 800 only displayed briefly and partially obscured behind a stack of boxed software! Looks like they were focused on selling 400s in this instance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2kCatx3JiY&feature=youtu.be
dstupp618
I was going through a huge move and I thank you guys so much for all the wisdom. I've decided to keep the kiosk for myself and get the piece of equipment it would have showcased. Thanks again for all of your advice and I sincerely apologize for not responding sooner. Thank you all!
