Question About Zaxxon

I have been trying to play Zaxxon in Stella 2.4 with my atari usb controller but the game is unresponsive to the controls. The usb controller works for all the roms I have. I even tried to use the player two port and configure the controller that way, but no luck. Any ideas how to get this to work?

Find yourself an Atari 2600. Then, through Ebay or thrift store, find a Zaxxon cartridge. Grab a working joystick and voila, you're playing Zaxxon. Old school.

I do have one and that is the next game I am going to hunt down, but for the short term I would love to play it in emulation. So does anyone else have any thoughts on how to get this work?

You're better off posting this in the Emulation sub forum. The creator of the Stella forum has a thread there about this version and you can post a reply there and he'll directly see it.

This might sound like a stupid question, but you are pressing the reset switch (F2 in windows) to start the game, right?

 

 

Upgrade your Stella if possible. The version you are running is really old. The current version is 4.6, and the problem might be fixed in a newer version.

Tried a different ROM of Zaxxon and it worked. Strange the one from Atari Age was giving me issues on this. Will probably upgrade my version of Stella soon.
