I have a couple of Copter Command games I'm going to give away. Free!

 

Who qualifies?

 

Anyone that has not already got one. Yes...I know who you are.

 

This is for playing...not reselling!

 

How do you get one you may ask?

 

State in this thread why you think you are deserving.

 

Two people will win. After 1 week, A panel of "experts" will decide on who wins.

A wife, two kids under 4, and a severely limited 'slush fund' have forced me to rationalize each and every home-brew decision I've made recently.

 

While I'd like to own everyone out there, I'm forced to pick and chose between games for multiple platforms and justify 'why I need this' to the wife each time I do so.

 

For the joy it would give me to add another new game to the collection, for the momentary increase of sanity it will return after I've put the kids to bed for the night, and for the pure satisfaction of telling the wife that I didn't spend dime one on the game, please consider me for one of the copies.

I should win because I have been recently forced by AA to become a Moonsweeper, but I liked more to be a Copter... ehm... a Chopper Commander...

Did Dz Jay bought a Copy? If not, I would like to nominate him. The arguments are damn easy: You could be sure that he wouldnt resell it for making profit, he was very generous too in many situations to the community (for example he wanted to gift a copy of Bump and Jump to me some time ago, just because I need it. I refused that, but I think the offer was real) and he spend a lot stuff to the community himself in his competitions.

I'm pretty new to collecting for the Intellivision, and my 4 year old daughter enjoys playing the games on the system with me. I think adding this homebrew to our collection might push her over the edge into playing with the Intellivision only and staying off my Atari. Help a dad out!

Aww, shucks! Thanks for the nice gesture. I did buy my own copy of Chopter Chommand, so it's not necessary.

 

But even if I didn't, I couldn't accept it. I enjoy this hobby a lot, so seeing the community grow and thrive, and sharing the joy with others is my reward.

 

Besides, I'm neither the first nor the only one who invests himself in this community. There are quite a few uncelebrated heroes among our crowd.

Why oh why am I their only hope?

Was the government that sent me a hapless dope?

Shouldn't there be barrages of allies to aid?

Only fighting alone, on my inevitable crusade.

So I died again and in a fit of rage.

I swear No more! and to turn this page.

But no matter how hard I try; I cannot stray you understand.

For I hit reset and vow to win this war, oh bittersweet copter command.

reminds me of my christmas carol competition poem of one lonely elf:

 

story teller.

 

Twas the night before christmas and all through the maze

Not a ghost was stirring cause I gave him the snowflake daze

Presents scattered here and there

I've got to get them all so I can get the hell outta here

I am but one lonely elf

Why do I have to do everything myself

I've got to get the presents back to Santa Clause' sled

If I am caught by the evil snowman I'm sure to be dead

If you hear his blood curdling howl

You can be sure that he is on the prowl

Sometimes I'm chased by a robot with a laser

That makes me look like i got shot with a taser

This delicious candy I score one at a time

I've got 8 caverns I have to explore

If I finish them all I might check out 8 more

So on haunted hallow, on frosted maze, on candy cove, and icicle lane

I cant name them all it's hurting my brain

This cavern I'm stuck in is completely insane

Trying to outrun these two is really a pain

And if I mess up my life will drain

But if I finish this hand I was dealt to play

I just might get a medal from an elf named DZ-Jay
