Keatah #1 Posted August 5, 2015 (edited) This pay-for-play arcade uses MAME to power their arcade cabinets! http://www.thegameisafootarcade.com/ "Each video game cabinet has over 5000 games from many game systems. Just dial up the game you want to play, press start, and GO!" And that includes cartridge/CD systems too. I wish other arcades would do this so that I could play on a proper LCD with no distortions and burn-in and funky colors. Just imagine going to an arcade and being able to see the on-screen action as it was intended.. ADDED: While I like the idea of MAME for the videogames, I'm not sure I like it for the pinball machines. You see, with MAME you're just replacing the electronic parts with newer more capable and more reliable stuff. With the emulated pinball machines, you're stomping on the whole experience of the silver ball. Edited August 5, 2015 by Keatah
racerx #2 Posted August 5, 2015 They're also potentially in trouble, should anyone want to press the issue. That's not a legal use of MAME. Plenty of discussion here.
Keatah #3 Posted August 5, 2015 The thread there has degenerated into RPG card games and pokamon shit.
VectorGamer #4 Posted August 5, 2015 Saw that thread on KLOV. Yeah they're going to get in trouble. Who TF would rather play on a MAME cabinet versus a dedicated original machine? Twinkies...
