High Score Competition (June: Road Hunter)

Recommended Posts

nice! I guess I'll have to dust the game off again and play some more. ;)

I am testing a TI-99/4A which is going to a good friend of me in Canada. Hope they ship it from Bangkok. In January I am moving back to The Netherlands.7dc4864fa1cba4e995cce5c63ef46f38.jpg

using keyboard in classic 99 QI396 (using keyboard arrows and Y), Classic 99 configured Joystick 2 as Keyboard.

(for whatever reason if I use keyboard 1 and Q it quits Driving Demon when shifting gear)

Probably my last score for the year:

27139

ah..

I can finally play the game! I was experiencing the same issue on classic99, that runs on a mac, and couldn't find the fix. Moreover in December I was unable to hook up my real TI. So today only, thanks to your suggestion, I had the chance of trying the game. I attach the score just for the record.

It's a pity, because I enjoyed the game much more than I thought (indeed the graphics didn't inspire me for some reason).

I always crash into another car about 3 seconds into play. But maybe that isn't what you meant... icon_smile.gif

HA! I knew I was setting myself up for that kind of response :P

I will try playing on real iron tonight. Have some end-of-year invoices to produce after dinner, then fun times for me.

Word up. Was never one of my favorites, but it is horizon-broadening to play a non-fave every now-and-then.

I wanna see who will be the first to pick one of the educational games ;)

(Re: Education modules - I was thinking about one of the first TI-99/4A modules we got: Video Chess)

January 2018 - Bigfoot

It has Speech Synthesizer support

and MBX (but I do not have this system and reading the manual I cannot figure out what the benefit is over a joystick)

* It is on the Game 512K cart no. 5

* Also in the FinalGROM package it is in the >Games>MBX directory

Bigfoot PDF manual

Does 50 mhz slow down the boulder rate?

50MHz actually increases the pace of the game dramatically, about 15 times normal speed. My guess is he is using one of those new fangled VR interfaces he must have received for Christmas, something which puts the game right in his head. They are not quite perfect, yet, as you can tell from the low score, but reaction time is greatly improved over standard visual-to-manual dexterity interaction.
