+freewheel #152 Posted November 17, 2015 Two people have already sent their controllers to me, those will be next in line (along with another one for a Canadian guy we all know and love). For the record I am not, nor have I ever been, said Canadian guy. I didn't order one of these bad boys as I only have the one Flashback.
+nurmix #153 Posted December 8, 2015 So far I've made and shipped 5 Dual Action Controllers (DAC), and have one more to go (as far as having the donor controllers in hand to make them). There are currently about 10 other people here who have said they want one, but I don't yet have their donor controllers, so if you've previously contacted me about getting a DAC, now would be a good time to get those controllers to me, since they will be made on a first come first served basis. And even if you haven't previously contacted me, if you get controllers to me, you'll get your DAC pretty quickly, since I'm more or less caught up. And of course, let me know if you also need Flashback adapter cables for your Intellivision (original or II/Sears), since you'll get a bundled discount. Remember, out of the box, the DAC is wired for use on the Flashback, so an adapter is required to use it on the original consoles. Thanks!

A few months ago I purchased a Flashback from Amazon when they were selling for under $25. When it arrived I didn't even open the Amazon shipping box. I handed the box to my wife and I said to her, "thanks for getting me an early Christmas gift, but please wrap it up and place it under the tree". She has no clue what "she" has bought me for Christmas this year. I just hope that Amazon didn't mis-ship, otherwise there will be a big surprise for both us when I do get to open it. I may not want to DAC-ify these controllers since they are my only set. I am always looking for a good deal on another one.

+nurmix #158 Posted June 23, 2016 (edited) I put together a video showing the whole process of making a Dual Action Controller, should any of you want to give it a try. Of course I am still making them for those who don't want to attempt this themselves. PM if interested. Sent from my Intellivision ECS using Intelli-Tapatalk I have two FB controllers already from IP, but I don't know if this is a task that I'd be able to tackle. I have two projects in the works already that I am behind schedule on. One of my projects is to get my Channel F operational, hopefully, before my multicart is delivered. Once I get my two projects completed, then this may be something I'd give some more thought on doing, but there is a good healthy fear of mis-cutting the films to overcome. When I get caught up, I'd have to re-watch the video in a different light and see if I get inspired to try this on my own.

I've never even played one - unless it was one in a demo kiosk back in the day, which is possible as my memory is a bit hazy on that. Yeah, it is a little tricky cutting the matrix layers. If you mis-cut (depending on how badly you did it!), you can usually repair it with a circuit drawing pen or a jumper wire and some glue, but it's best to just do it right the first time. I'm still open to making them for people if the interest is there, but it seems to be a very niche product in an already niche group. Sent from my Intellivision ECS using Intelli-Tapatalk The Channel F is also a bit a niche, or becoming more of a rarity, at the least. It was my first console, so it holds a special place for me. There appears to be two multicarts left unspoken for: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/149932-fs-fairchild-system-channel-f-multi-cart-pre-order-now/page-1 So if you really want to get a console at some point in the future, then getting the multicart now, while there is some available, would help fuel your desire to get a console for it...

fdr4prez #167 Posted June 30, 2016 Heh, yep - I'm patiently waiting for a Channel F multicart. Definitely hope to have it before this year's Extra Life gaming day. Back in Jan, I had a PM going with Fredric (e5frog) on a different topic, and at that time he mentioned that he was hoping for a mid-summer shipment for this latest round of multicarts, and his recent postings on that thread showing his progress is promising. So there is still hope for you and the Extra Life game day.

+nurmix #171 Posted July 8, 2016 Intelli-Tapatalk eh? Might have to give that a shot. Also glad to see my sandwiching of the mylar sheets idea on the controller is still being liked. I'm holding out for the Keyboard Component version of Intelli-Tapatalk (ITKC). Unfortunately they need to guarantee a user base of at least 10 people before they devote the resources to the project. And that seems like a pretty lofty goal to me... So have you made yourself a Dual Action yet? So it the Tapatalk an actual thing? If so, how does it work? So have you made yourself a Dual Action yet? No, but now that I think about it I can't think I a reason why I haven't. I had it working alright with the Intellivision 2 controllers. I have an Intellivision Flashback 2 set I could convert which as you've shown seem to be a bit easier to use and better quality controllers.
DZ-Jay #174 Posted July 16, 2016 (edited) So it the Tapatalk an actual thing? If so, how does it work? Tapatalk is a mobile forum app for iOS. It requires a plug-in be installed in the forum server itself for it to support it. AtariAge has it. In the past, it was an extremely versatile and useful app, and certainly the best way to navigate and access forums. However, eventually they tried to monetize the app by adding advertisements, hiding features behind in-app purchases, braking compatibility, and crippling the forum navigation to make it more "Facebooky." I stopped using it altogether now and instead use the AtariAge built-in mobile theme. In any case, Tapatalk has nothing to do with Intellivision. Nurmix jokes in his signature that he uses Tapatalk for ECS, but that's just in jest. -dZ. Edited July 16, 2016 by DZ-Jay
