problem with 7800 on my HD TV

my PAL 7800 console is connected to my HD flat screen via a scart cable

but when I am playing, I am loosing the channel for a couple of sec , every so many minutes

so for all of sudden I cant see the screen (all balck) and my game and so many times I am losing

any explanation ?

Old video game consoles don't generate a video signal that's 100% to specifications. Analog equipment, by its very nature, was extremely tolerant of those variances.

 

Digital TVs are hit-or-miss with those old consoles. My HDTV will show a picture from my 7800, but for some reason it drops the color info (but the color's still there because it shows up in PIP and POP). My HDTV won't show a picture from my 2600 or my Sega Nomad.
