+Ksarul #1 Posted August 28, 2015 Anyone have good contact with MainByte? His site is down with the notice that something is coming soon, which is usually shorthand for: the previous subscription for this site expired.
+Schmitzi #2 Posted August 28, 2015 This here is at least not a bad info (expiration in 2017): Domain Name: MAINBYTE.COM Registrar: GODADDY.COM, LLC Sponsoring Registrar IANA ID: 146 Whois Server: whois.godaddy.com Referral URL: http://registrar.godaddy.com Name Server: NS3.SECURESERVER.NET Name Server: NS4.SECURESERVER.NET Status: clientDeleteProhibited http://www.icann.org/epp#clientDeleteProhibited Status: clientRenewProhibited http://www.icann.org/epp#clientRenewProhibited Status: clientTransferProhibited http://www.icann.org/epp#clientTransferProhibited Status: clientUpdateProhibited http://www.icann.org/epp#clientUpdateProhibited Updated Date: 23-feb-2015 Creation Date: 22-feb-2000 Expiration Date: 22-feb-2017
Omega-TI #3 Posted August 28, 2015 Updated Date: 23-feb-2015 Creation Date: 22-feb-2000 Expiration Date: 22-feb-2017 Going direct to a specific page gets one nothing, the main page get the "FUTURE HOME" page (which is scary). So from about 6 months since Go Daddy last updated the information, we've lost it. It appears to be locked down an held. If it was being updated or under major construction I would think there would be some notice instead of a generic page. While this site had not been updated in quite a while, it was still THE place to go (IMHO) for project information on the main upgrades. I'm curious, did anyone ever 'copy' the site for private use just in case anything ever happened?
Omega-TI #4 Posted August 28, 2015 I just went through my stuff because I remembered I had something from Mainbyte on my computer. I had wanted to play with a new piece of software a while back, so to test it out and get familiar with it, I decided to make a PDF out of one of Mainbyte's project pages. Here it is... PEB Disassembly & Fan Project.pdf
+InsaneMultitasker #5 Posted August 28, 2015 I'm curious, did anyone ever 'copy' the site for private use just in case anything ever happened? When this happens I usually take a peek at the internet way back site.. It looks like a lot of the information can still be obtained from the snapshots. https://web.archive.org/web/20150419221108/http://www.mainbyte.com/

sometimes99er #16 Posted August 31, 2015 A lot of the ASP driven pages are still down. I'm occasionally using the excellent XB ref. http://mainbyte.com/ti99/basic/basic2.asp
