Was the summer slowdown season skipped this year?

Recommended Posts

Am I getting more forgetful that I'm already aware of, or did we somehow 'skip' the normal summer slowdown season this year? With all the activity and new games, it feels like is should still be winter.

Not slow for me. New contract position, new grandson, family trips. All my spare time has been kaput.

What's a summer slowdown? Never heard that phrase before. Time just seems to be flying as per usual. :(

A summer slowdown is when people are usually side-tracked by outside activities like sports, yard work, vacations, etc. During this period, indoor hobbies, like our TI's, usually 'take a backseat' to all of these good weather activities that are added to our normal daily responsibilities like work, chores, family, etc. This year we've had so much going on (except in the hardware department), that it just did not 'seem' like summer.

It has been too hot for me here in Portland OR, so I started up indoor hobbies. :) I might not have, had this group not appeared as active as it is.

Yeah, this is an active group alright! Actually, I think the talent, excitement and participation levels are higher here now, than when I was active back in the 80's.
