Enigma
Hi. I was just wondering has anyone designed/built a replacement TI-99/4A motherboard, something that will fit into a TI-99/4A case ?
+Ksarul
There hasn't been one designed to fit into the keyboard case, but there are boards designed to fit into the Peripheral Expansion Box to do the same thing. Combining the SNUG EVPC, SNUG HSGPL, and the SNUG SGCPU boards provides enhanced, 80-column video (EVPC), a lot of GRAM (the HSGPL), and a new CPU board with AMS memory built in (SGCPU). You also have the option of trying to find a Geneve 9640, which is a different upgrade path with a different set of advantages and disadvantages. That said, both are excellent products. Megatron1999
Sounds like a good idea, as I'd assume a GENEVE 9460 or a PEB with the necessary boards will be VERY expensive ? And as Old TI-99/4A start to die, then you could just pop an NEW improved motherboard in the case, so they last for ever !
+save2600
TI-99 hardware already has lasted "forever"... and I don't see most of them dying off suddenly in the near future either. Some of most robust computer equipment ever made! Are you wishing for TI hardware to last for all eternity?

Some of most robust computer equipment ever made! Are you wishing for TI hardware to last for all eternity? Yes .. let the TI-99/4A last forever !! But seriously it does allow faulty ones to be repaired ..by popping in a new motherboard or if you have a TI-99/4A case you could insert a new motherboard. The Colecovision has had a 'NEW' motherboard designed/made , I believe it uses the F18A VDP and is still in the prototype stage.
