Gabriel #1 Posted September 11, 2015 Everyone please observe a moment of silence, because my beloved Radica Space Invaders Plug n Play died today. I sat down to play some Phoenix today, and it wouldn't power up. This passing was most unexpected, although it's sound did have a lot of abnormal buzz yesterday. This plug n play introduced me to Colony 7, which was a game I was previously completely unaware of. It also introduced me to Lunar Rescue, another fun game. Mostly though, I played Phoenix on it, and enjoyed many hours of fun fighting alien birds. My Space Invaders plug n play will be missed, and is survived by a Super Pac Man plug n play which is still currently in service. I always kind of figured this plug n play was a NES on a chip. Does anyone know if there is an NES Phoenix port?
+save2600 #2 Posted September 11, 2015 Pretty sure there's no NES port of Phoenix, but if you have a 2600 or 7800, can always mod your PnP to work with them!
BigO #3 Posted September 11, 2015 (edited) And...one more Radica SI becomes available to be turned into a 7800 controller. Edited September 11, 2015 by BigO
MaximRecoil #4 Posted September 11, 2015 It is probably an easy fix, assuming the thing can be easily disassembled for inspection and repair.
frank_c #5 Posted September 11, 2015 And...one more Radica SI becomes available to be turned into a 7800 controller. Yeah, re-purpose that piece. I have one that still works, one converted to CV, one to Astrocade, and two in states of dis-assembly.
BigO #6 Posted September 11, 2015 Yeah, re-purpose that piece. I have one that still works, one converted to CV, one to Astrocade, and two in states of dis-assembly. They really are a decent controller with microswitches in the joystick part. I've considered gutting the working one I have to make a mini arcade cabinet with the board and free up the controller part to become another 2600/7800 controller. Might even shove a small keypad and extra buttons in it to make a digital 5200 controller.
NinjaWarrior #7 Posted September 11, 2015 Mod it work on the Master System/7800
