Foebane
My guess is the Windows Registry. Although, I would think you would lose all those settings if you had to reinstall Windows. I'm assuming the Registry simply because no additional files are added in the Altirra folder.
flashjazzcat
Yes, Altirra stores settings in the registry unless you run it in portable mode, in which case it uses config files. Just do a registry search for "Altirra". That's what I did when I had to clear the Ultimate NVRAM data.
Mclaneinc
Just open a command prompt and go to your Altirra dir and type Altirra /portable and it will now store the settings in the Altirra directory instead of the registry, saves on backing up the Virtualdub / Altirra key. To revert back to the registry just delete the Altirra ini file while its running so it will write to the registry when its closed. fujidude
I always run in with an .INI. Easier for me to manage that way.
Foebane
To revert back to the registry just delete the Altirra ini file while its running so it will write to the registry when its closed. I'm on the latest Altirra and it doesn't do this anymore, just creates a new .ini file.
Foebane
Never mind, I seem to have reverted it without any problems, I simply deleted the .ini when Altirra wasn't running.
