Jaglink II schematic

Check ebay for jaglinks they are still sold, I think Nick for 16-32bit systems has sold jaglink II's in the past maybe he has one laying around.

A jaglink II is only handy for games like aircars, battlesphere for more then 2 players otherwise the original jaglink will do.

But do you got more then 3 jaguars and 3 players to make use of it ? Mostly getting a few jaguar users together is the most difficult issue.

I think we have done a battlesphere challenge once at E-jagfest UK with 16 players (original battllesphere) and (s)catboxes...

Maybe I got some pictures of it somewhere...

16 jags with 16 monitors and (s)catboxes with monitors took at lot of space .... not really something to setup in your livingroom...

This. I got one sealed when I bought a games lot, and I've had zero happen that would compel me to open it. It has limited utility even before considering there's rarely enough Jaguars in close proximity to make use of it.

Nice. I'd be interested in one of those JagLink II PCBs and a parts list if they're available.

Also, since I'm just about done putting together a board that looks like it is more or less the same as your video breakout PCB, curious what the schematic for that is. Namely, what are those switches doing on there?

Together with Bob!k we made this version last year. We tested it successfully with BattleSphere and Aircars in 3 players. I think I still have some spare PCB yet.

Very nice! One thing that was interesting that I noted to Zeroaquare was the JagLink II's board has 5v going into an empty pin 1 on both RJ11 connectors, at least on his. I was talking to James from Retro HQ and he said his have all 6 connectors on the RJ11. The JagLink II documentation I could find from 2003 even mentions Pins 1 and 6 on the JagLink II as power in / out between the two + jags. I ordered some boards to test this schematic out either way but I also designed a shell and plan on selling them if everything works out. The main goal though was to try and integrate this into my Jag2HD for a later model.

Here's a super rough model next to my Jag2GEN:

So it means they used both 6P6C and 6P4C connectors on the JagLink II, depending on the production run. If it's by design, that's strange ; maybe they just used whatever was in stock at the time?

Otherwise how are you connecting more than two systems?

Since there are two RJ11 ports, you connect either of them to the previous console in the chain, and the other one to the next console.

I asked James to confirm and actually he meant it's a 6C4P on his as well, so no Pin 1 or 6 populated in the socket. :) I'd go back and edit my original post but sadly AA doesn't let you do that. Mystery solved I guess.
